MIT-founded nonprofit Moving Health has deployed 31
tricycle ambulances across five districts in rural Ghana,
reaching over 230,000 people with no access to the
National Ambulance Service. Each vehicle costs around
$7,000, carries a stretcher, oxygen and emergency
birthing kits — and is proudly made in Ghana. In 2020,
only 55 ambulances served the entire country.
