VP Opoku-Agyemang Visits Tudu Fire Scene; NADMO To Deliver Relief To Victims Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang on Friday, June 5, visited the Accra Central Market enclave following the devastating fire outbreak that affected parts of Tudu and surrounding commercial areas earlier this week. The visit formed part of government efforts to assess the extent of destruction and engage affected traders and residents after the blaze destroyed properties and merchandise. The Ghana National Fire Service described the incident as one of the most difficult fire outbreaks in recent times, citing gas cylinder explosions, electrical hazards, heavy smoke and access challenges during firefighting operations. The Vice President was accompanied by Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Ocloo, Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and other officials. During the visit, affected persons received assurances of government support while authorities continue investigations into the cause of the fire and the scale of damage.
