The English Football Association (FA) is currently considering how its senior men’s national team will approach the customary pre-match handshake with Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey ahead of their upcoming World Cup Group L match on June 23. The internal considerations follow Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz's decision to include the 32-year-old Villarreal midfielder in the Black Stars' provisional 28-man tournament squad. Partey is currently facing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom, where he has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving four women. The criminal trial is scheduled to take place at Southwark Crown Court.
