Dubai dome delayed by technical issues, arrives too late for congress

The dome, ordered from Dubai, arrived at port too late for use at the congress. Technical challenges delayed its arrival, and an additional 10 days are required to assemble the structure.

Congress relocated to Accra International Conference Centre Dome

The 10th World Assemblies of God Congress will proceed at the Accra International Conference Centre Dome.

The Assemblies of God, Ghana, will loan its 10,000-seater dome to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Ghana at 70 celebrations, the church's General Superintendent announced on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Rev. Dr Stephen Yenusom Wengnam made the announcement at the opening of the 10th World Assemblies of God Congress at the Accra International Conference Centre Dome. The dome, originally ordered from Dubai for the congress, arrived too late to be assembled in time for the event.

Originally, we were to meet at the Independence Square. We had ordered a 10,000-seater dome from Dubai, but technical challenges made it impossible for it to arrive on time. Even though, as I speak, it has arrived at the port, we need 10 days to fix it.

Delayed arrival from Dubai

Technical challenges delayed the structure's arrival from Dubai. Although the dome had reached the port by the time of the announcement, an additional 10 days would be required to assemble it, making its use for the congress impossible as originally planned.

Rev. Dr Wengnam said the dome would be moved to the Assemblies of God Centenary City land before being loaned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Ghana at 70 events.

The 10th World Assemblies of God Congress continued with evening revival rallies scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Accra Sports Stadium from Wednesday, October 14, to Friday, October 16, 2026.
