President Mahama Extends Heartfelt Condolences Over Yaa Naa Abukari’s PassingFacebook

President Mahama has extended condolences following the death of Yaa Naa Abukari II, expressing that the passing marks a profound loss for Ghana. In a statement on behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, Mahama conveyed sympathy to the Dagbon Traditional Council, the Royal Family, the Chiefs and People of Dagbon, and all Ghanaians mourning the loss.

Mahama described a long personal relationship with the late ruler, noting that he had known him for many years, including during the period when he held the title of Yo Naa. The President stated that they worked together to resolve the Dagbon crisis during his first presidency and maintained a close bond thereafter.

We worked together to resolve the Dagbon crisis during my first presidency, and remained like father and son ever since. We have come a very long way together.

Mahama acknowledged the depth of the loss, stating that the absence of Yaa Naa Abukari II will be deeply felt. He expressed that solace is found in acceptance of divine will, closing his remarks with a prayer for the departed ruler.
