Iran's President Mahmoud Pezeshkian confirmed the memorandum of understanding will be signed on Friday. However a major complication has emerged — Israel has refused to withdraw from areas it has seized in Lebanon despite the ceasefire, and continued airstrikes on Beirut earlier today. Trump criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directly, calling him "a very difficult guy" and saying Israel's Beirut attacks should never have happened. Iran has made an end to Israeli operations in Lebanon a key condition of any lasting deal. French President Emmanuel Macron called for swift and full implementation of the agreement. Turkish President Erdogan welcomed the deal but warned against actions that could sabotage the signing before Friday.
