BREAKING: Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement on the implementation of a ceasefire, according to two sources familiar with the negotiations. Israel and Lebanon have officially agreed to the implementation of a regional ceasefire following high-level trilateral negotiations brokered by the United States at the State Department. ​According to a joint official statement released on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, the implementation of the truce is strictly contingent upon a complete cessation of fire from the Iran-aligned Hezbollah militia. The comprehensive framework also mandates the total evacuation of all Hezbollah operatives from the South Litani Sector in southern Lebanon. Under the U.S.-led agreement, both sovereign nations have committed to creating special "pilot security zones" where the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) will assume exclusive territorial and security control to the total exclusion of non-state actors.
